2022-2023 Opening Season Letter

Hello! Welcome to the 2022-2023 Thunderbolts Youth Basketball Season. We are so glad that you have decided to be a part of the program this year. A lot of our players have been working in the off season and we cannot wait to see the growth they have made.

Thank you to all the coaches and volunteers for giving their time to make this season happen. We have very large numbers on each team this year which will be challenging for coaches to equal out the playing time. Playing time may look different with every game. Some games they may not get as much and other games they may get more than others. The most important thing about a youth program is the practice time. It is our duty to make sure that all athletes develop and master the foundational skills of the game and to help them develop their love for the game, their confidence of the game and their ability to work as a team. We will be working hard in practice to make sure everyone is competitive and ready to have tryouts as they enter school sports.

We have been meeting with the Varsity coaches to help guide our practices and to start offering some more opportunities for our athletes that will be up and coming.

This year our K-2nd program will stay in-house. Our 3rd-6th program will be playing in the York Adams League and 1 team will be playing in the YMCA league. Our 6th & 4th grade teams will be considered “A” teams and our 3rd & 5th grade teams will be considered “B” teams. It is a very competitive league, but we know that our athletes can rise to the level to be just as competitive as the next team.

Starting at this point, all communication will be coming from your coach. If you have any questions or concerns, please talk with your coach.

Thank you,

TYB Board
